About CarGoDogs

The concept for CarGoDogs.com was conceived during a trip from Southern to Northern California on a hot summer weekend in 2006. All of us were shopping for new vehicles and we discovered how difficult it was to find detailed information pertaining to cargo space, ventilation, and other features of particular importance to those of us traveling with dogs.

Since we are all active with showing our dogs in various venues and sports, we are continually exposed to new products and methods of travel and transport. Through our experiences we hope to provide information that makes it easier for those looking for a dog vehicle, accessories or health and safety tips so travels with canine pals can be safe and enjoyable adventures.

Cindy Chick & Dave Musikoff

Cindy and Dave travel to dog shows and agility trials with their two Belgian Tervuren, Raider and Cassie, in a 2000 Toyota Sienna. Their second car, a 1988 Toyota Corolla wagon, is small, but in a pinch it can haul two dogs plus cargo on weekend and day trips. With 204,000 miles on the Corolla, it may be time for a replacement. Under consideration is a Toyota Matrix or a mid-90's Honda Accord Wagon.

Kimberly Buchanan

Kim shares her adventures with a mixed breed dog named Harold and two Belgian Tervuren - Oscar and Emmy. They have spent many years training and competing in Agility, Obedience, Tracking, Schutzhund, Dock Diving and their newest sport, Nose Work. Kim's dog vehicles started with a 1978 Mercedes sedan. She then moved up to a 1996 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer and they currently travel in a 2007 Mercury Mariner Hybrid.
